Welcome to my homepage!

My name is Mihai-Alex Moruz, and I am a teaching assitant at the Faculty of Computer Science, "Al. I. Cuza" University, Iasi, Romania. I have graduated from the Faculty of Computer Science, part of "Al. I. Cuza" University, Iasi, Romania in June 2006, with a degree in Computer Science. In October 2006 I enrolled in the Computational Linguistics Master program within the Faculty of Computer Science, which I graduated in June 2008.

I have graduated my PhD studies at the Faculty of Computer Science, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dan Cristea, in September 2011. The subject of my thesis is concerned with solving natural language variability by means of textual entailment based on predicational analysis for obtaining deep semantic representations of texts. The title of the thesis is "Predication Driven textual Entailment", and its latest version is available here.

I am also a researcher at the Institute for Computer Science, Romanian Academy, Iaşi Branch, where I have conducted research regarding the structure of the Romanian verbal group, the syntax-prosody interface for Romanian, and syntactic parsing.
