How to get to Iaşi

Iaşi is easily reachable by air, by train, by bus or by car. Citizens of many countries, including all EU countries and the US, do not need a visa for a short visit to Romania.

Arriving by plane:

Iasi International Airport (IAS) is relatively close to the city center, at a distance of around 7 km from the venue of the ICCS 2014 and the hotels around it. The airport is connected by direct flights to the the following cities: Bucharest, London, Rome, Tel Aviv, Turin, Bologna, Milano Bergamo, Vienna. The airlines operating these flights are TAROM, for most of them, and Austrian Airlines, for Vienna.Another major airport close by is the Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, (OTP). The duration of a land transfer from this airport to Iasi is around 7 hours.
Travis Tourism will organize on demand individual car transfers from the Bucharest - Otopeni "Henri Coanda" International Airport to Iasi or from any other points in Romania, as well as from the Chisinau International Airport (KIV) in Moldova.
For individual car transfers, prices may vary according to your special requests.

If arriving from another country, bear in mind that there are no currency exchange outlets at Iaşi airport. The local currency is Romanian Lei (RON). There is an ATM outside the building. Since taxi drivers usually accept RON, not euro or other currencies, you will need to be able to withdraw money from this ATM or arrive in Iasi with RON. Many exchange offices close to the city center offer good rates for Euro or US Dollar.

Arriving by train:

Travis Tourism can also conveniently book also train tickets for you in Romania and worldwide, which you will receive, for most companies, in an electronic version, by email.
Iasi is connected directly by Railway to Bucharest, Suceava, Cluj-Napoca, Alba-Iulia,and Timisoara. Other destinations are available in Romania, with change of trains on the main routes stated above. The train station is 5 minutes away by car from the venue of the ICCS.
