Iași is easily reachable by air, by train, by bus or by car. Based on your travel preferences, please see the information below.
You can arrive directly at the Iași international airport (airport code: IAS), using the following airlines:
If you find a better flight through another Romanian airport, then you can combine plane transportation with train or bus.
The Iași airport is about 8km from the city center. The only transportation to the city is by taxi. A metered taxi to the center of Iaşi should cost no more than about RON 15–20; it takes about 15 minutes by taxi from the airport to the centre of the town. Most city taxis have meters; insist that they use it. The rate per kilometer is about 2 RON outside city limits and around 1.8 RON per kilometer inside them.
If arriving from another country, bear in mind that there are no currency exchange outlets at Iași airport. There is an ATM outside the building. Since taxi drivers usually accept RON, not euro or other currencies, you will need to be able to withdraw money from this ATM or arrive in Iaşi with RON.
The Romanian Railway Company (CFR) operates service between Iasi and almost all of Romania's main cities and tourist areas. Your final destination for ConsILR is Iași Train Station (Gara de Nord Iasi).
If you want to check the latest train schedules for domestic routes please visit the CFR dedicated website, with complete information about domestic train schedules and fares. For departures from /to Bucharest please type and select Bucuresti Nord.
If you plan to use train to travel, please see the list of international trains with direct/short connection service
