he mission of PrivateSky project is to efficiently transfer the knowledge resulting from the research activity carried out at the Faculty of Computer Science, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (UAIC), to the IT industry.
The concept of this project is newly introduced and it is concretized by using an innovative Cloud architecture based on executable choreographies applied in creating new technologies, tools and methods for cloud software development.
In recent years, the UAIC Cloud Computing Research Group has obtained and validated through scientific publications new results in the use of executable choreographies on software integration issues and the confidentiality of data stored and processed in the cloud.
The objective of the project is achieved through the development of a PaaS (Platform as a Service), entitled PrivateSky, in collaboration with small and medium-sized software developers interested in using the proposed technologies. Throughout the project, we will work in mixed teams of UAIC researchers – specialists from companies to create an “ecosystem” that meets the needs of the market.
The PrivateSky platform will be used by partner companies for industrial research and experimental development of products and services. This will allow them to launch innovative products in new markets or to convert / integrate on-premise applications to / with cloud applications.
Also, the source code for PrivateSky will be licensed in open-source mode, offering open use of innovative technologies developed by the project and other interested companies.
